1. Who are we?

BUILD is a Norfolk based independent registered charity providing social, leisure and learning opportunities to people with sensory, physical or learning disabilities. Established in Norwich 1967, The BUILD Charity provides a wide range of community based activities across Norfolk, with opportunities to take part in social clubs, gardening, outdoor and cultural activities as well as independent living skills learning workshops.

2. How information about you will be used?

By completing a Volunteer Registration, Staff Application or Beneficiary Registration form the information you provide will be held in electronic and paper form for use by BUILD Charity staff and BUILD Charity Volunteers in connection with the services provided by the BUILD Charity.

We will review your personal information on a regular basis and check that it is still accurate and you are happy for us to still hold the details. We are legally required to hold some types of information to fulfil our statutory obligations (for example the collection of Gift Aid). We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity.

Please be aware that we may hold personal information for a time beyond your active engagement in the activities of the BUILD Charity to comply with funding or safeguarding audit requirements. In these circumstances the material will be securely stored.

If contacted by email via our Mailchimp, or direct e mail facility you will be able to unsubscribe at any time to receiving information updates from us and we will remove you from our contact list.

3. Who will it be shared with?

Your information will not be shared with anyone else without your permission. The only exception to this will be as part of a safeguarding or criminal investigation.

4. Security

Whilst we will do our best to protect your Information. Any information you submit is sent at your own risk. Once we have received your Information we will use strict procedures and security features to prevent unauthorised access. We maintain the highest standards of security, however the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure.

Your data may also be available to our website provider to enable us and them to deliver their service to us, carry out analysis and research on demographics, interests and behavior of our users and supporters to help us gain a better understanding of them to enable us to improve our services.

This may include connecting data we receive from you on the website to data available from other sources. Your personally identifiable data will only be used where it is necessary for the analysis required, and where your interests for privacy are not deemed to outweigh their legitimate interests in developing new services for us.

In the case of this activity the following will apply:
