Gwen and Dot are celebrating a hugely significant birthday this year and as part of the celebrations have kindly asked friends and family not to buy them presents but to make a donation to a local charity that they know makes a real difference to the lives of people with disabilities in Norfolk. You can donate via the button on this page.

The BUILD Charity is a Norfolk based, independent registered charity providing social, leisure and learning opportunities for anyone, with any disability, aged 18 or over. Celebrating its own significant birthday in 2027 (albeit a youngster at only 60), the BUILD Charity offers around 300 community based activities to its members each year ranging from gardening projects and craft workshops, through ten pin bowling, independent living skills workshops, meals out in local pubs and restaurants as well as hosting around 300 people each month in a nightclub project.

Gwen’s daughter Carol has been a volunteer with the charity for over 15 years starting with its youth group in Dereham, now supporting a ten pin bowling group and playing a leading role promoting its services to others. As a result, Gwen and Dot hear a lot about the benefits the charity gives and have been financial supporters of the charity over the years realising that every donation, big or small, makes a positive difference to ensure that people with disabilities can access things that many of us take for granted.

You can find out more about the charity here www.buildcharity.co.uk and if you would like to give Gwen and Dot a present that will really make a positive difference to others in the local community, please donate using the button on this page.

Many thanks and Happy Birthday to Gwen and Dot.
