Support us Our current fundraising appeals Diamond Investment Fund Donate BUILD Charity's Diamond Investment Fund will invite single and regular donations to sustain the charity up to, through and beyond its 60th (Diamond) Anniversary in 2027. Funds will be applied alongside contributions from people who use our services to support around 300 community based social, leisure and learning activities each year for anyone, with any disability, aged 18 or over in Norfolk. In January 1967 the Princes Street United Reformed Church in Norwich launched a weekly social club for people with disabilities called "The Wednesday Club". Today, that Club still runs, but is just part of a community based programme of activities and opportunities organised and hosted by the Norfolk based, independent registered known as BUILD Charity. Completely independent of the now closed United Reformed Church, and reliant wholly on grants and donations from individuals, charitable trusts, businesses and community fundraising activities. The charity receives no public sector funds from the local authority or health and social care services. The Charity is led by a Board of voluntary trustees and employs the equivalent of 2.01 FTE staff to manage the infrastructure but supports around 75 volunteers who provide the front line support in hosting the programmes and contribute to the back office functions of marketing and fundraising. Donations to the BUILD Charity Diamond Investment Fund will contribute towards The costs of designing, developing and delivering safe and accessible community based programmes for adults with disabilities, Recruiting, training and retaining the volunteer workforce that makes it happen and Ensuring that the Charity remains sustainable up to, through and beyond its Diamond anniversary in 2027.
