The Whitlingham Walkabout 56 Challenge is part of the Do Your Bit for BUILD fundraising weekend and takes place on Sunday 2nd April 2023.

Here is how it works:

  1. Register your place by making a £5 donation in the DONATE box on the right of your screen. Remember that if you are a UK Tax payer and tick the Gift Aid box we can turn that into £6.25
  2. Once registered we will send you a link to a sponsor form that you can send to your friends and families, neighbours and work colleagues to encourage them to sponsor you for your efforts. (if you want a paper form, we can do that too!)
  3. Check in to our Registration Tent which will be open from 10am until 4pm on Sunday 2nd April and can be found on the main footpath close to the Car Park and Cafe at Whitlingham Park. Look for the BUILD Banners and make sure that you have purchased a Car Park ticket if you came by car. You can turn up at any time between these times to complete your laps.
  4. Once we have registered your start, off you go and complete as many of the 2.2 mile laps as you can making sure that when you pass our Registration Tent each time, you let us know so that we can log your laps.
  5. Check in when you have finished and collect your personal completion certificate showing the number of laps that you have done towards our target of 56 laps. One lap for every year that BUILD has been delivering services for people with disabilities in Norfolk.

Our Co-Chair of the Board of Trustees (Tim Taylor) and Chief Executive (James Kearns) have both committed to walking the equivalent distance of a Marathon on the day so will be leading by example.  Every single lap counts towards our target.

Whilst we will not have any refreshments at our check-in area, the Cafe does serve hot and cold drinks and food all day.

If you have friends or family who want to join in they can register too, or pay on the day, and the more people who take part, the more money we can raise.
