Whitlingham Walkabout 56 Challenge - Donate Donate Fundraise Since 1967 the BUILD Charity has been supporting people with disabilities in Norfolk to lead an active and fulfilling life as part of our local community. Since then we have ridden the economic roller-coasters, survived a global pandemic and managed the implications of changes in society's attitudes, and funding towards care and support. We are still here, and going forward. Each year we host around 300 social, leisure and learning opportunities during the evenings and weekends for anyone, with any disability, aged 18 or over, in Norfolk. Our aim is to provide people with disabilities with the social life that most of us normally take for granted. On Sunday 2nd April, as part of our annual "Do Your Bit for BUILD" fundraising weekend, our members with disabilities, staff and volunteers will be looking to walk 56 laps of the 2.2 mile distance around Whitlingham Broad, near Norwich. That's one lap for every year we have been delivering services. For some, with physical disabilities or limited mobility, one lap will be a significant challenge, for others, a walk in the park. Our Co-Chair of Trustees, Tim Taylor and our Chief Executive, James Kearns will be leading by example, looking to each complete a full marathon distance during the day. Everyone will have a contribution to make. You can support the BUILD Charity by clicking the DONATE button on the right hand side of this page and giving what you can to support our efforts. If you are a UK tax payer, please click the Gift Aid box so that we can increase the value of your donation by 25% with a contribution from HM Revenues and Customs, at no cost to you or us. If you are supporting an individual taking part in the challenge, please mention them in your donation message so that we can pass that on to them as encouragement. Your support is greatly needed, and greatly appreciated. It will put more smiles on the faces of people like Sarah and Julie above. Thank you. Manage Cookie Preferences
