Do Your Bit For BUILD (DYB4B) started as a fundraising weekend where those who use, or support our services demonstrated that we can help ourselves raise money before we ask others to help.

Over the last three years it has grown and we have raised over £7,000 through a variety of events including a sponsored "Board Walk" by our Trustees, a 54 mile cycle ride by volunteers and a fence painting activity by one of our members with disabilities. Last year members with disabilities did gym tests, bike rides and a model car rally.

You can support this fundraising campaign in a number of ways:

  1. Make a one off donation by clicking the DONATE button on the right hand side of your screen. If you are a UK Tax Payer please gift aid your donation.
  2. Host your own fundraising activity and collect the money and donate the proceeds using the same button.
  3. Support one of the activities listed below, or someone who is "Doing Their Bit for BUILD"

In 2022 we set a theme of "55" linked to our 55th anniversary. This year it's up to you. You can download our Fundraising Guide with loads of ideas HERE or you could link it to one of these themed events over the weekend:

  • 31st March is National Dance Marathon Day
  • 1st April is not only April Fool's Day but also worryingly National DIY Day!
  • 2nd April is World Autism Awareness Day

Five Friends – Five things – Five Pounds

  • Contact 5 friends (or family members), meet up and do 5 things or travel 5 miles, and ask each to donate £5 to the BUILD Charity
  • It could be meeting for a 5 course meal, a drink in a pub, 5 challenges, or a country walk for 5 miles, make something in 5 flavours, clean 5 cars for 5 friends –  your imagination is the only limit.

The Whitlingham Walkabout 56 Challenge

  • Register with us (£5 donation) and complete as many laps of the 2.2 miles route around Whitlingham Broad, (on the edge of Norwich) that you can to help us to reach our target of 56 laps (1 lap for every year that we have been helping people with disabilities in Norfolk)
  • When you register you will be able to access your own sponsorship page and then encourage your friends and family to either join you to take part, or sponsor you per lap or with a fixed on-line donation.
